There is FREEDOM in
being A Godly Woman!
John 8: 31
reads, "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed
on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples
indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make
you free."
When I here the word free I usually think of
physical freedom. As an American, I live in the "land of
the free". Free to go wherever I want and free to be whatever
I want to be. Let me just say this. There is nothing wrong with
that type of freedom but I strongly believe that the "free"
that is stated in that scripture has very little to do with
us physically.
The freedom that is spoken of in the above verse
alludes to a mental freedom that shapes our thoughts and emotions
about every aspect of our lives. It is a freedom from the mental
bondage that defining ourselves by the world's standards puts
us in. This freedom allows us to be exactly who we are in Christ
no matter our surroundings or circumstances.
As women we have to delve into the word like
never before to find our true selves and forget about how the
world tries to define us. Romans 12:2 states, "
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by
the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Don't you want to be able to think for yourself,
have wisdom to make better choices and the confidence to live
according to what you know? This is true freedom and it can
only be found in God!
